Cardiac Science is a manufacturer of heart monitoring equipment that began in 1913 under the name The Burdick Company, named for one of its founders, F.F. Burdick. It became known as Cardiac Science in 1991. The company is based in the United States in Bothell, Washington, and also has several locations in Asia and Europe. The products made by Cardiac Science can be shipped worldwide.

Cardiac Science serves many industries beyond hospitals and clinics. Its products are also used by law enforcement, local fire departments, schools, the military, and more. What these service industries have in common is that they are often the first responders in a medical emergency involving heart failure and need to have the proper life-saving equipment readily available.

The most well-known product sold by Cardiac Science is the Rescue Ready Automated External Defibrillator, which is also known as an AED. In cases of sudden cardiac arrest, the AED is used to deliver an electrical shock to the person in heart failure. If it is delivered properly and within the appropriate window of opportunity, administering the AED can and does save lives. Cardiac Science sells five different models of the AED which all have slightly different features but deliver the same life-saving result.

The EKG Cardiac Monitoring System is another product that is both well-known and highly used by clinics and hospitals worldwide. As its name implies, the EKG Monitoring System measures a patient's heart rate and rhythm and prints the results on a graph for the doctor on staff to interpret. This information is crucial for a doctor to determine a recovery plan for his or her patient.

Cardiac Science offers six different models of EKGs, with variation in design and features so customers can decide which model will be the most effective in their particular environment. There are stand up EKGs as well as ones that are intended to rest on a shelf or stand to conserve space.

There are eight major product categories offered by Cardiac Science, which are further broken down into subcategories so the correct product can be more easily located. If a customer is unable to locate a specific product by category or subcategory, there is the option of using the Product Finder on the far right-hand side of the company's website. The Product Finder gives the customer the option to locate a product with a keyword or by entering a category, brand, or industry. The same option is available for locating medical accessories.

Cardiac Science offers training classes to organizations that have purchased certain products. Class schedules, including dates, times and locations are listed on the company's website. Each product that offers training will have its own training schedule.

Customers often have questions when it comes time to implement the products they have purchased from Cardiac Science. The company meets this need by assigning Project Managers to assist customers through the entire implementation process, including installing the product and training staff on how to use it properly.
