The Welch Allyn company traces its beginnings back to the year 1915, when an ophthalmoscope developed by Dr. Francis Welch and William Noah Allyn was sold for the first time. Five years later, Mr. Allyn went to an American Medical Association to market the ophthalmoscope that he and Dr. Welch had invented. Fellow medical personnel paid attention, and shortly thereafter the Welch Allyn company was formed.

Nearly a century later, the Welch Allyn company serves clients in North America, Asia, Europe and Latin America by providing the diagnostic medical supplies needed by many specialties. In the United States, Welch Allyn has offices and production plants in Skaneateles Falls, New York, and Beaverton, Oregon. They can also be found in numerous countries worldwide.

Welch Allyn supplies doctors' offices and hospitals with just about any kind of diagnostic medical supplies they could need. For the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor, there are close to two dozen product categories to choose from. From the otoscope to view the inner ear to the ophthalmoscope which allows an ENT to view the pupil of a patient's eye up close, the Welch Allyn company has everything the modern ENT office needs to provide high quality medical treatment to its patients.

Cardiologists know that treating a patient's heart condition requires not only precise skill, but equipment and machinery for accurate results and subsequent treatment. With a Welch Allyn electrocardiograph, heart doctors can perform ECG tests on patients and be confident in the results that are returned. When it comes time for the patient who has suffered a heart attack or has another heart condition to begin the long journey to recovery, Welch Allyn has exercise systems that monitor the patient's progress and performs an EKG reading all at the same time.

A blood pressure reading may be just numbers to some people, but doctors understand that those numbers are critical to a patient's health. Numbers that are too high could result in several serious health conditions, including heart attack and stroke. With a blood pressure monitor from Welch Allyn, doctors can choose the types that are most often used by patients and fit the best into the medical office surroundings. There are units that hang on the wall, those that sit on a table and many other options available for obtaining a patient's blood pressure reading.

Welch Allyn is also dedicated to doctors in training. Medical students can access a wide variety of diagnostic equipment that may be needed to complete training directly from Welch Allyn's website. The medical student can order securely and have the items shipped out immediately.

Medical personnel and distributors who are interested in contacting Welch Allyn should go to the Sales page to fill out a contact form with the type of equipment interested in and more information about the organization that is considering a purchase. There is also a toll free number for people who would prefer to call directly.
